Speak and Read

If you can speak but not hear, then Speak and Read is your best call option.

In other words you prefer to use your own voice, but want to read the responses from the person you are talking to on your TTY. This call option is also known as "voice carry-over".

How it works

The relay officer types everything the other person says to you for you to read, but you continue to talk knowing the other person can hear you directly.

What Users Say
I work in a law firm, but because I'm hard of hearing I have trouble using a normal telephone. The relay service makes using a phone easy. I don't know how I ever lived without it.
