A movie that bridges two worlds

Quiet Signs of Love is a short film about two young people – one deaf and the other hearing – and a love that transcends their differences.

Part 1:  Daniel has his eye on the mysterious young Hannah and introduces himself clumsily before realising she is deaf. After a rocky start, love blossoms.

Part 2:  Different attitudes towards Hannah’s deafness threaten to pull the lovers apart. The NRS helps them connect again.

Interview with the star: Bethany Robinson – who plays Hannah – talks about the film and about being deaf in a hearing world.

Background

Quiet Signs of Love is a compelling modern love story that promotes internet relay to young deaf Australians and features young actors Matt Greenlaw and Bethany Robinson. It provides a window into the world of deafness and shows the important role the NRS plays in the lives of thousands of Australians.

The film was written and directed by Yannis Nikolakopoulos (Ikonfilm) who also collaborated with Brett Williams (of The Choirboys) on the vibetrack - a soundtrack  that focuses on vibrations for deaf audiences.
