Murph's story
After a bout of meningitis when he was two, Murph lost some of his hearing. Then as he aged he became almost entirely deaf. This meant his wife Jen had to make all the phone calls – ring his friends and stay in touch with the kids and grandkids.
That was until Murph and Jen discovered the National Relay Service. Relay calls have opened up a whole new world for Murph, who can now talk to his grandchildren on the phone and make and receive other calls every day. This short video of Murph’s story is a glimpse into the hidden world of hearing loss and shows that losing your hearing, doesn’t have to mean losing touch. Publication date
