Call costs

Actual costs may vary slightly with different phone companies.

  • Calls from mobile phones are usually time charged by your mobile phone company. So the longer you are on the telephone, the more expensive it will be.
  • For overseas or premium rate (eg 1900) calls you will need to open a National Relay Service account.
  • You can make as many follow-on calls as you like once you are connected to the NRS without having to hang up and dial in again.

To find out more about the cost of TTYs and subsidised disability equipment schemes contact the Helpdesk.

The tables below show the charges that apply to different call types depending on the phone you make the call from.
